Trauma Focused Assessment & Managing Secondary Traumatic Stress – Overview of CE-CERT (Day 1)

Training Description:

Please note, registration for the Introduction to TF-CBT is also required unless previously attended. 

This training is designed to provide instruction and practice in the administration, scoring, and interpretation of the DSM5Trauma Screen and PTSD Checklist .

Training participants will learn techniques for integrating assessment results into therapeutic sessions with caregivers and children and enhancing treatment engagement through the assessment process. Specific instruction will be provided in the incorporation of assessment findings into Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy.

Also covered in this training will be methods for tailoring treatment plans to assessment results and using on-going assessment to track treatment progress. Additional measures to assess for child trauma and associated posttraumatic stress symptoms will be briefly highlighted as well.

The second part of this training includes an overview of the Components for Enhancing Clinician Experience & Reducing Trauma (CE-CERT). This training will provide an overview on the Components for Enhancing Clinician Experience and Reducing Trauma (CE-CERT) model. Developed by Dr. Brian Miller, CE-CERT is a skills-based approach to improving provider well-being and effectiveness in working with traumatized clients.

Cost:

The cost for the Assessment Training is included in the fee for the 2-day Introduction to TF-CBT Training which is required unless previously attended. If you have previously attended the 2-day Introduction to TF-CBT and are only interested in attending the Assessment the cost is $100. This fee is waived for therapists working for agencies contracted with DMH (Department of Mental Health) in child trauma.

Training Prerequisites

  1. Master’s level therapist or higher
  2. Licensed or under licensure supervision
  3. TF-CBT Web Training: TF-CBT Web Course (Must be completed before attending training. Bring certificate to training or submit prior to training)
